Usually held the final weekend of September (Fri/Sat). Coming up to 10 years, the event is one you have to see to believe. The event raises money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Attendance is around the 4,000 mark over two days with the village of Burghfield descending and a direct bus route bringing friends and family from central Reading. Primarily a beer festival, the musical aspect of the event has ‘gotten a little out of hand’ with possibly the most professional setup you will ever see at a village beer festival – or frankly even a town one. Burghfest 2024 and the preceding events have included a fun fair, it remains to be seen if that continues in 2025, but the event is a real family affair.
The big thing is the festival glasses. These things last forever in the village. You cannot go to a village event, friends BBQ or anything else without being served in a branded Burghfest glass. However there are plenty more options and bespoke packages are available – banners, stage sponsorship etc.
